As an electrician who installs EV chargers in homes and businesses across Melbourne, I love visiting the beachside suburb of Elwood, located just 8 kilometres from the city centre, between St Kilda and Brighton.
As an electrician who installs EV chargers in homes and businesses across Melbourne, I love visiting the beachside suburb of Elwood, located just 8 kilometres from the city centre, between St Kilda and Brighton.
Elwood offers a variety of local shopping options, with the largest being "Elwood Village" along two main sections of Ormond Road. Here, specialty shops, retailers, and eateries blend seamlessly with the surrounding apartment buildings and homes. Along the grand, tree-lined Brighton Road, which turns into St Kilda Road and Nepean Highway, you'll discover more retail and service outlets and a couple of historic hotels.
The suburb's beaches are surrounded by parks, with separate paved walking and bicycle tracks running alongside them. At the northern end, you'll find the M.O. Moran Reserve, which extends to the picturesque Elwood Canal with its iconic twin bridges. Further south, the Point Ormond Reserve is on a raised headland, offering stunning views of the city skyline, bay, and Elwood's sandy beaches from the top of Point Ormond Hill.
Elwood Park, located at the southern end of the beach at Head Street, offers various sports ovals and recreational facilities.
Elwood's sandy beach stretches from the groyne at Point Ormond to just past the distinctive diversion drain at the end of Head Street. The wide expanse of sand and calm waters, patrolled by the Elwood Life Saving Club, make for a safe and sheltered swimming experience. Along the beach, you'll find kiosks, boating clubs, and a restaurant for your convenience.
As The Ev Man, I'm proud to service the suburb of Elwood, contributing to its growth and sustainability through expert EV charger installations for its residents and businesses.
